According to the agency data, there are 2,534,781 cases from January to November 2025. The high number of ISPA cases is caused by various risk factors, one of which is weather changes.

Head of Jakarta Health Agency, Ani Ruspitawati said the current trend of increasing ISPA cases is influenced by changes in weather and environmental conditions which can increase people's vulnerability to respiratory disorders.

Health Agency Ensures ISPA Cases in Jakarta are Under Control

"The agency continues to monitor the dynamics of ISPA cases throughout the Jakarta area to ensure optimal handling responses," she said, Tuesday (12/9).

Ani emphasized the importance of implementing a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) as a mitigation measure. Basic practices such as washing hands with soap, wearing a mask when sick or when air quality is poor, and implementing cough etiquette are all part of the self-protection standards that must be consistently implemented.

Moreover, Jakarta Health Agency also encourages the public to maintain their immune system through balanced nutrition, adequate water intake, regular physical activity, and adequate rest. Ani explained that vaccination remains an effective preventative measure for high-risk groups.

"The public is urged to immediately seek medical care if they experience respiratory symptoms to receive timely treatment. This effort is expected to reduce the number of worsening cases and prevent complications," she added.

To anticipate ISPA, the people of Jakarta need to implement a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle, such as:

• Wash hands with soap

• Wear a mask when you are sick

• Wear a mask when traveling in poor air quality conditions,

• Implement cough etiquette,

• Increase body resistance (balanced nutritional intake, fulfill body fluid needs, regular exercise, adequate rest),

• Carrying out vaccinations for high-risk groups, and

• Immediately access health services if experience symptoms of respiratory problems.
