Chairman of Commission E for Jakarta City Council, KH M Subki said resolving the problem of brawls in the Manggarai area is not a simple matter.

It involves psychological issues

"This brawl issue is not simple. It involves psychological issues as well as the economic conditions of the community," he said, Monday (1/5).

Jakarta Govt Prioritizes Human Approach to Curb Brawls

According to him, handling brawls in Manggarai must be carried out comprehensively, involving all relevant parties. These efforts cannot rely solely on security forces, either the police or the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

"All parties must take responsibility, from the government to religious and community leaders. This is especially for parents, who have the responsibility to manage and foster the well-being of their respective households," he added.

Subki emphasized the importance of firmness from security forces in enforcing the law. He stated that law enforcement must be carried out fairly and impartially to create a deterrent effect.

"Apart from economic factors, education is also a very important factor to pay attention to in preventing brawls," he emphasized.
