Post-Flood Cleanup Underway on Jalan Boulevard Raya

Joint personnel were deployed for post-flood cleanup on Jalan Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta.

They were from Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU), North Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency, City Parks and Forestry (Tamhut) Sub-agency, and Satpol PP.

Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village Head Nani said the post-flood cleanup was carried out through cross-agency collaboration at the sub-district and urban village levels to restore road conditions.

"Post-flood handling requires cooperation from all parties. This synergy is essential so that residual waste and mud from the flooding can be addressed quickly," she stated on Monday (1/19).

Nani explained that around 60 joint personnel were deployed to clear flood debris from main roads that had been affected by inundation.

According to her, debris carried by floodwaters could endanger road users if not cleared quickly.

"Jalan Boulevard Raya is a vital access route. Therefore, we are ensuring the road surface is not slippery so residents' activities can return to normal," she noted.

She also expressed appreciation for the swift and coordinated work of joint personnel in ensuring the Kelapa Gading area remains safe and comfortable.

Nani encouraged residents to take an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness, particularly by not littering.

"Such collaboration will continue to be maintained to ensure public safety and comfort," she added.

On the other hand, North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Field Coordinator Muhammad Setya said about 15 personnel and two medium-typed fire trucks were deployed to support accelerated cleanup efforts.

"We conducted water spraying using two units, each with a tank capacity of 4,000 liters" he informed.

He conveyed that the spraying was carried out to help remove remaining post-flood debris so the road could be safely used again.

In addition to Jalan Boulevard Raya, cleanup efforts were also conducted on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, with the same personnel and equipment support.

"We will continue to monitor other affected locations and are ready to carry out further handling if needed," he noted.
