An Elder Woman Dead in Kebon Baru Fire

Fire once again happened in densely populated area on second day of ied-ul fitr. It hit a house on Jl H RT 01/09 No.9 Kebon Baru, South Jakarta, Saturday (7/18). An elder woman dead after trapped and could not saved her life.

 

"We received a report from Tebet extinguish post at 6.45 PM. We deployed 15 fire trucks to the fire scene," said Edi Sucipto, Operational Head of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue, Saturday (7/18).

By the help of officer and residents they swipe around and succesfully extinguish fire an hour later. "Luckily it did not spread," he said.

 

After fire  was succesfully extinguished the officer found a dead body of a house owner. She died as she coud not saved her life.

Kebon Baru Urban Village head, Bambang Suhada revealed that a 80 years old victim named Saritem who lived alone in her house. "The 80 years old victim named Saritem, her body was brought to Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital for authopsy, then her funeral will be proceed by Paguyuban Iswara," he uttered.

Meanwhile, Tebet Chief Sector Police, Kompol I ketut Sudarma acknowledged, the fire allegedly caused by a candle."As she couldn't afford to pay electricity, then she used a candle at her home," he finished.
