Driving Recklessly, A Public Minivan Hit 5 Motorcycles

Accident involving public transportation happened again. A public minivan M06 route Kampung Melayu-Gandaria hit median strip and 5 motorcycles along Jalan Raya Bogor, Ciracas, East Jakarta, Thursday (7/23). Consequently, 3 motorcycles were severely broken and 3 riders got seriously injured.

The minivan then stopped after hitting river's separation barrier

Based on the information gathered, the minivan plate numbered B 1842 WT which was driven by Syahrul Alit (41), an unofficial driver (supir tembak)  drove from Pasar Rebo towards Gandaria. But allegedly driving recklessly and under influence of liquor, the minivan which transported 3 passengers hit median  strips as high as 40 cm. Due to high speed, it crossed the median and ran to opposite direction.

No wonder, 5 motorcycles which ran from Bogor instantly hit by the minivan. Even it also hit big-sized flower pot alongside the road. The minivan then stopped after hitting Kalibaru

The locals and other riders who passed by the area became furious. They  swarmed over the driver that still half conscious because of liquor. Luckily, not long after that a police showed up and secured him.

The driver admitted when driving the minivan, he was still half conscious and sleepy. Because on last Wednesday night he had liquor party along with his partners. Despite the front part of his minivan broken, but he did not get any serious injured.

"I was sleepy and i didn't not realize driving this minivan with high speed. Indeed last night i got drunk with my friends, and now i'm still feeling dizzy," he expressed.

Adi Kartono (35), a taxi driver told, the minivan was driving with high speed from Pasarebo towards Gandaria. Even the minivan had run zig-zag, overtaking other vehicles in front of it.

"The minivan then shaky and hit median strip. Afterwards, it crossed and hit 5 motorcycles in front of it. The minivan then stopped after hitting river's separation barrier," he explained.

Due to this accident, 3 motorcyclists got injured, they are Muklis (55) a motorcyclist plated numbered F 4766 IN, Sarikat (49) motorcyclist plated numbered B 6599 EVU, and Rudi Eko (40) F 5364 FX.

They then rushed to Pasarebo Regional Public Hospital to get medical treatment. As for 2 other motorcycles did not get any defect. The minivan and 3 motorcycles then brought by officer to East Jakarta Traffic Unit Police Station.
