Djarot Motivates Officials to Accelerate Budget Absorption

The City Budget (APBD) absorption in Semester II of 2015 only reached 19.21 percent or Rp 12.22 trillion of the regional expense total by Rp 63.65 trillion. Despite it is low, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat keeps motivating his rank to work harder. 

It is applied nationally. Therefore, we need innovation and policy to accelerate the absorption process

To push the absorption, Djarot continued, his party has been participating and summoning urban village, sub-district, and sub-department heads of each area. 

From the meeting revealed that it is because there are still many officials as budget user are afraid to get involved in corruption and threatened to be demoted when using the budget. 

Djarot: APBD Absorption This Year will Be Better

"I motivate urban village, sub-district, and sub-department heads to be brave conducting a development program in their area. Don't be afraid. If you don't have no intention to do corruption, just be brave," he expressed, Thursday (7/30). 

According to him, the low of budget absorption is not only happened in the city. But it is also happened in ministry and other provinces. 

"It is applied nationally. Therefore, we need innovation and policy to accelerate the absorption process," he suggested. 

Based on the data of the Jakarta Financial and Asset Management Board (BPKAD), the total of City Budget is amounted to Rp 69,28 trillion that divided into 2 that is regional expense amounted to Rp 63,65 and Government Investment Participation (PMP) Rp 5,63 trillion. 

"The budget absorption just got realized 19.21 percent per July 29," said Head of Jakarta BPKAD, Heru Budihartono.
