96 Bylaw Offenders Tried for The Minor Criminal Offenses

As many as 96 bylaw offenders consisting of 75 street vendors and 21 citizens who caught littering are on trial for the minor criminal offenses (tipiring) at South Jakarta District Court, Friday (7/31).

However, of the number, only 47 offenders coming to the court. While, the rests remain to be convicted.

"There are many citizens violating public order and littering are on trial in the South Jakarta District Court," said Head of South Jakarta Satpol PP, Sulistyo.

46 Citizens Charged for Littering

43 out of 47 cases tried are street vendors and 4 waster litters.

"Our purpose to raise citizens' awareness, it's evidently effective, so the trial is routinely conducted," he expressed.

Rohman, a resident of RT 4/4, Bukit Duri Urban Village who was selling on sidewalk claimed resigned. "I admit i was wrong selling on the sidewalk and charged fine by Rp 150,000," he admitted.
