Central Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-Department urges PD Pasar Jaya to tightly monitor several food products containing formalin.
Those netted traders are from Palmerah, Bendungan Hilir and Gondangdia Markets
This is because there are several
traders in traditional market remain dare to sell formalined foods. Based
on the results of laboratory test, until this month, there are 5 traders caught selling formalined tofu.

According to him, similar case is also spotted in Palmerah Market by netting 6 chicken-meat traders. These meats were from some areas outside Jakarta.
“The market management must keen to monitor food products circulation. Don’t let harm the customer, there should be a routine check by involving sub-department or Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM),” he disclosed.
