Lalu Lintas Semrawut, Kolong Flyover Klender Kembali Dipadati PKL

Street Vendors Back to Occupy Klender Flyover

Dozens of street vendors come back to trade under Klender Flyover, East Jakarta. They open a business place in two border regions, namely Cakung and Pulogadung Sub-Districts.

The condition triggers traffic congestion along Jalan Raya Bekasi, especially from Pulogadung towards Cipinang.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the majority of vendors are selling vegetable, fruit, chicken or fish. Ironically, the road can only be passed by one car.

East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Husein Murad had instructed local sub-district apparatus to control those vendors.

"I've instructed local sub-district heads to control vendors under Klender Flyover. If not, they will disturb public order," he asked, Tuesday (8/4).

Responding on this problem, Head of Pulogadung Sub-District, Ahmad Haryadi acknowledged that the border region is still chaotic.

But the region is clean at noon. This is because they only allowed to trade at 6 AM and the place must be sterile at 7 AM.

"Earlier, the vendors had built huts in front of Klender Station, but we had controlled them. About five months, the place is sterile," he explained.
