85 Buildings in Rawa Badung Dam Torn Down, No Compensation

As much as 650 joint personnel tore down 85 buildings that located in Kampung Rawa Badung, RT 10/08, Jatinegara Urban Village, East Jakarta, Thursday (8/6).

This dam was previously fused with the west side which have 4.4 hectares wide

Those buildings was built on the Rawa Badung Dam which been dredged before used as illegal residential. There will be no compensation for the owners who occupied a 1.8-hectare-land.

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana acknowledged that the socialization was already done last two months in Cakung Sub-District Office. To 85 households, he also sent a demolishment warrant three times.

“ This dam was previously fused with the west side which have 4.4 hectares wide . But it split as the construction on Jalan KRT Radjiman which only leaving 1.8 hectares on the east side,” he uttered.

According to him, those households were not deserve to occupy the flat. Such illegal buildings are occupied by 427 people. While the majority of the buildings used as a used-goods storage.
