City Grants Hundreds of Motorcycles to Pangdam Jaya

Jakarta City Administration grants 326 Kawasaki D-Tracker X motorcycles to Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya) which amounted Rp 18 billion. The 250 cc motorcycle was previously used during the Asian-African Conference (KAA) in Jakarta several months ago.

City also handing over 2,950 sets of riots equipments. The handover was represented by Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama by giving a key and hitter to Jakarta’s Military commander (Pangdam Jaya) Maj. Gen. Agus Utomo.
The governor hoped the equipments could minimize the crime especially muggers.

With this grant, Basuki hoped the army personnel could guard the city well together with the police. "If the city condition is safe, our economy will also grow well," he added.
Separately, Jakarta’s Military commander, Maj. Gen. Agus Utomo admitted his side has limitation of facilities to secure the capital. Furthermore, the problem faced in Jakarta is quite complex. “We need such equipment to secure capital,” he expressed.
On that occasion, Ahok and Agus had briefly test the capability of Kawasaki D-Tracker X around City Hall yard. The commander also tested the shield's strength.
