Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama was furious seeing many street lights malfunctioning. He was also disappointed with performance of Jakarta Industry and Energy Department Head, Harris Prindatno as he is considered could not be able to do his duty. 

"I have repeatedly asked to give lights using IT system in each city for controlling the lights. So you don't have to rely on contractor anymore

"Mr. Harris, I'm disappointed and not satisfied with your performance. You sent me picture of malfunctioned lights, I'm not a kid," said Ahok during executive meeting at City Hall, Monday (8/10).

He expressed, he has repeatedly instructed the department to purchase street lights in each city by themselves without having to use contractor. Considering, all this time many contractors of auction winner have budget affairs of street lights through blackout. 

"I have repeatedly asked to give lights using IT system in each city for controlling the lights. So you don't have to rely on contractor anymore," he expressed. 

Ahok judged, the department has never conducted his instruction related to street lights handling in the capital. As, when they are asked about the matter, they always dodge saying that the lights stocks run out due to not being auctioned. 

"Mr. Harris' excuse is the lights quota run out, have not been auctioned. Your performance is just like the former Department Head that I replaced," he asserted. 

He also instructed other Regional Working Units (SKPD) do not let contractor sides powering them. If that so, the same matter would keep repeating and disserving citizens. 

"I can make one IT system for controlling, I'll instruct the Infrastructure and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers to fix all malfunctioned street lights in Jakarta. So, I don't need Industry and Energy Department anymore," he closed.
