Flag Peddlers Rampant Along Sidewalk of Tanjung Barat

Although the sidewalk of Jalan Tanjung Barat Raya occupied by flags and banners peddlers, yet there is no action from local urban villages and sub-districts.

We understand that they (peddlers) have violated the public order, but we can also see the flag as road decoration

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, at least 15 peddlers are seen trading along the Jalan Tanjung Barat until Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya. Most of the peddlers' stalls were built on public facilities, such as pavement and drainage. 

Jagakarsa Satpol PP Head, Yahya said that he has coordinated with the boss about this problem. However, there is no command to control the stall until now. "We understand that they (peddlers) have violated the public order, but we can also see the flag as road decoration. I think this is not big problem, as long as they don't disturb the pedestrians," he told, Tuesday (8/11).

Currently, Yahya continued, his side still waits for command from his boss to control them. "We're ready and only waiting for order from our boss," he told.

As experienced by a peddler of Cirebon, West Java, Sudanto (34). He has been trading more than seven years in front of Tanjung Barat Station. "I also opened stall here last year," he told.  

Susanto claimed he understand to violate the rule because covering pavement. "I know selling here is prohibited. But, I will only sell here until Independence Day," he explained.
