Fire Anticipation, Intensive Socialization Must Be Conducted

Lack of public awareness caused high number of fires in capital. Therefore, the intensive socialization is highly needed.

“We asked all Head Sector of Fire Handling and Rescue Department in greater Jakarta to conduct the socialization intensively of fire threat against citizen,” said Head of Empowerment and Community Participation (Partimas) Division for Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Abdul Chair, Wednesday (8/12).

“ Fire often occurred mostly caused by smoke, firecracker, cooking gas, and unqualified electricity wire . Their awareness is still lack," he uttered.

Children of Fire Victim Received Aid

Through the cooperation with the instance or mass organization could be established to run such the program. “It will be done by involving family welfare movement (PKK), Youth Group (Karang Taruna) and various schools. Various sourced and fire cause could be informed over residents as an anticipation strategy,” he explained.
