Today, Asemka Market Must Be Free from PKL

Although the Asemka Market must sterile from Street Vendors (PKL) today, Thursday (8/13), dozens of Street Vendors (PKL) still selling their goods around Pasar Pagi, Asemka, West Jakarta, yesterday and still causing congestion in the area.

Relaying on beritajakarta.com observation, some of traders were still selling on Jalan Raya Asemka and pedestrian. The condition also worsened with illegal parking which covered half of road.

Joni (30), a toy trader admitted yesterday to sell in Asemka for living.

Wednesday, 237 Asemka Street Vendors Relocated

"I take a single day advantage to trade because I could save Rp 500 thousand here. I will move and pack my goods after I closed," Joni explained.

Meanwhile Tina (34), an accessories trader claimed that she still wanted to inform her customer that she will move to Perniagaan Market.

Head of West Jakarta Trade, Cooperative Small, Medium Sized Enterprises Sub-Department (KUMKP), Sonar Sinurat uttered, yesterday is the day for vendors to move into specified location after they joined draw in Taman Sari Sub-District Office.

"Today, Asemka Market should be free from PKL because all vendors had been agreed not to sell here today," told Sinurat.

As information, a total of 237 PKLs will be relocated today in accordance to implement orderly street vendor of 5 orderly (5 tertib) programs which initiated by Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).

The vendors will be relocated into Perniagaan, Mitra Jembatan Lima, and Pejagalan Market.
