Beef Traders Back to Their Activity

After not selling for a week, a number of beef traders in some markets in North Jakarta, back to open stall normally on Thursday (8/13). Yet, the beef price is still expensive, ranging from Rp 120-Rp 125 thousand/kg.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations at Koja Baru market, only 9 out of 19 beef traders began to sell back. The market also looks crowded by buyers.

City Keeps Solving Beef Scarcity

 

"We back to sell today. We just want to meet the needs of residents over beef," told Endang, one of beef traders in Koja Baru Market.

 

However, she is only selling 100 kg of beef due to high price. As a matter of fact, they could sell 200-250 kg per day during normal price.

 

"Generally, the buyers are dominated by meatball traders and restaurant. And the rest are local people by only buying 0.5 kg of beef," she told.

 

Similar statement also came out from another beef trader in Rawa Badak Market, Otong (45). He assessed, he only sells 75 kg. It is different while in normal condition, 150 kg could be sold.

 

Head of North Jakarta Area 2 PD Pasar Jaya, Mat Doang disclosed many traders already back to sell today.

 

"We hope all traders could already open their stall within two or three days ahead," he expressed.
