PKK Planted 1,000 Chili Seeds in Kemayoran

As many as 1,000 chili seeds from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) were planted by Central Jakarta Family Welfare Movement (PKK) team on a 1-hectare land of National Army's Supply Battalion and Transportation Complex (Yon Bek Angrat) in Bungur, Kemayoran.

"We hope this urban agriculture program could run well. We also ask Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-Department to train farmer groups," told Head of Central Jakarta TP PKK, Rintje Lumban Mangara, Wednesday (8/19).

According to him, the companies and developers in Central Jakarta are supposed to pay attention their surrounding environment. Although Jakarta has no larger agricultural land, the small land can be utilized as a farming land.

Dasa Wisma Program Could Press Child Mortality

"We hope they (companies and developers) care about the environment, because this is a modern farming in the middle of the city," Lumban hoped.

Separately, Head of Central Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department, Mulyadi disclosed besides chili seeds, a number of vegetables and productive plants were also distributed. They are like lettuce, pakcoy, celery, tomato, and red onion.

"There are also productive plants, such as mango, guava and star fruit. Hopefully, all could be harvested in the upcoming September," he hoped.
