Dasa Wisma Program Could Press Child Mortality

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat asked, Dasa Wisma Program in Jakarta could be intensified because the program could press child mortality and improve the quality of next generation in Jakarta.

"We should intensify Dasa Wisma if we want our child and family safe," told Djarot in Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (8/19).

According to him, Dasa Wisma is one part of communities that can be empowered to deliver government's program such as child nutrition, health, education, and the children protection from violence. "Later, it can also be connected with PKK program as routine child healthcare in Posyandu (integrated health services posts)," he told.

Women's Organization Appealed to Have Synergy with Government

Djarot continued, to maximize the Dasa Wisma, all elements from community and government should give full support. "Especially in flat, the government should cooperate with RT and RW, also activate the PKK or organization role at there," told Djarot.

Dasa Wisma is a group of mothers from 10 householders (KK) which usually live in a neighboring area. The intention of Dasa Wisma is helping the main tasks and programs of PKK which aimed to improving health and family welfare.
