Trash Volume in N. Jakarta Increased By 2 Percent

Head of North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Bondan Dia Ekowati claimed post-the 70th Indonesia's Independence Day Ceremony, trash volume in her region increased by 2 percent.

Normally, trash volume reaches 1,300 tons every day. But after the ceremony the volume increased to 1.360 tons or 2 percent

"Normally, trash volume reaches 1,300 tons every day. But after the ceremony the volume increased to 1.360 tons or 2 percent," she claimed. 

The trash volume in detail is 300 tons in Tanjung Priok, 250 tons in Penjaringan, 250 tons in Cilincing, 150 tons in Pademangan, 150 tons in Kelapa Gading and 260 tons in Koja. Those trashes were also from household. 

Trash Volume in W. Jakarta Decreased Significantly

Besides, such condition is also caused by the increase of population number, and also the minimal citizens' awareness to dispose trash in its place. 

As the anticipation step, she continued, as many as 176 truck deployed to transport those trashes in all over North Jakarta. 

As for trash pile-prone areas, are in Papanggo Urban Village (Tanjung Priok Sub-District), Muara Angke Urban Village (Penjaringan Sub-District), Rawa Badak Utara Urban Village  (Koja Sub-District), Pademangan Barat Urban Village  (Pademangan Sub-District), Rorotan and Kalibaru Urban Village  (Cilincing Sub-District) and Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village  (Kelapa Gading Sub-District).

"From those points, the highest trash volume is Tanjung Priok and Cakung Lama River," she disclosed.
