Some Normalization Projects in C. Jakarta Cancelled

Since the several projects of water channel improvement failed during auction process, the 2015 budget by Rp 600 billion in Central Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department is not fully used. Even, some projects that had been auctioned had to be cancelled due to no auction winner. From 600 billion, only Rp 79 billion was used.

The remaining budget is Rp 159 billion. From that number, Rp 80 billion will be used to repair drain, but it failed due to no auction winner. And it had to be deleted

Head of Central Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Herning Wahyuningsih said she received budget allocation of Rp 600 billion. Using this budget, she did auction for normalization. But unfortunately, it was failed in the first stage of the tender process. As a result, Rp 441 billion for such project deleted.

"The remaining budget is Rp 159 billion. From that number, Rp 80 billion will be used to repair drain, but it failed due to no auction winner. And it had to be deleted," she told, Wednesday (19/8).

Budget could not be used because of a long time. This is because the project needs 2 months. Nevertheless, the drain reparation can still be executed by using the self-management budget.

She added that there are 400 projects of sheet pile installation in eight sub-districts. There are located on Jl Abdul Muis, Citarum connecting channel (PHB), Kali Duri, Rawa Kerbau, Nangka connecting channel and so on. But it was cancelled due to expensive cost.

While self-managed budget was used for u-ditch or culvert installation. It is deemed helpful to anticipate flood during rainy season.
