Seribu Islands KLH Monitoring Maritime Ecosystems Damage

The Seribu Islands Environment Agency (KLH) keeps observing maritime ecosystems in marathon in some islands. 

Before the damage is getting worse, the observation keeps being conducted in some islands, particularly in Pari Island

The observation has been ongoing on since last Saturday (8/22) and will take place for a week. It is initiated with sea water, sand, corals samples collecting, checking and measuring the seagrass and monitoring mangrove growth. 

"Before the damage is getting worse, the observation keeps being conducted in some islands, particularly in Pari Island. Afterwards, we plan to evaluate and find the solution along with Formapel and the local government," said Head of Seribu Islands Environment Agency, Tiur Hutapea during observation in Pari Island, Wednesday (8/26). 

KLH Asked to Empower Formapel

She told the local wisdom need to be developed again by maximizing the role of Environmental Care Community Forum (Formapel) for realizing Seribu Islands as world's tour destination. 

"The samples collected will be brought to laboratory to be checked in detail," she explained. 

Such observation is also assisted by citizens formed by KLH who are briefed with knowledge for observing their neighborhood.
