Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, asks history teachers should not only as teacher but should be able to motivate students thus they have strong nationalism.

Teachers should be imitated. Be a good role model

He told, nowadays nationalism spirit in Indonesia begins to fade eroded by hegemony of globalization which massively campaigning western culture. Therefore, history is very important to internalize the spirit of next generation for facing it.

"Teachers don't only convey the material as document. But they should present the material as the interesting series for students," said Djarot when he became keynote speaker, in Pengejawantahan Nawa Cita Seminar Through History, in University of Jakarta, Thursday (8/27).

According to him, to internalize noble values to students, personality is a absolute term. Because, not only conveying material lesson, teachers' personality should be a good role model for students.

" Teachers should be imitated. Be a good role model," he expressed.

He added, such role should also be applied in family and community.

"If we see history, the condition is not much different with what Bung Karno told during his speech in Independence Day Ceremony in 1957 ago until mental revolution coined," he disclosed.
