23 Illegal Buildings Along Jalan Kayumas Selatan will Be Demolished Soon

Due to standing on water channel that comes down to Sunter River, as many as 23 illegal buildings along Jalan Kayu Mas Selatan will be demolished.

"We should think, don't just demolish.  They have been occupying the area for almost 35 years," said Pulogadung Sub-District Head, Ahmad Hariadi, Monday (9/7).

According to him, the rampant of illegal buildings on the area is because it was formerly swamp. "As the area was less passed by, swamp and deserted. Their existence increase economic of the local residents," he uttered.

However, he continued, law enforcement should be done. " We had held socialization and gave a warning. 3 out of 26 owner buildings had demolish their own building ," he continued.

If the demolishment is done, the water channel will be refunctioned. "We will coordinate with the related unit to refunction the channel, thus the water would flow smoothly," he explained.
