Illegal Foreigners Operation in West Jakarta Intensified

West Jakarta Administration is routinely holding a foreign people supervision operation. The operation will involve National Army/Police, Immigration Office, State Attorney, etc.

In West Jakarta, there are 2 Immigration Offices. They are Class I Soekarno-Hatta and Class I Special.

"West Jakarta is an entrance way for foreign people. Besides from airport, they are also from harbor," said West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi, Thursday (9/10).

3 Foreign Medical Workers Raided

Effendi told, since Indonesia consists of islands, so foreign people could enter through some other lands illegally.

"Moreover, Jakarta is heterogeneous and compound. Not only citizens from other areas, but also foreign people from other countries," he told.

Based on the data of the Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department, there are more than 2,200 foreigners domiciling in West Jakarta.

"About 700 of them are re-registered and the rests aren't. Out of it, there are still also ones haven't registered. So there are still possibly foreign people who have not been registered thus we hold the operation," he explained.
