Resident who living in Harapan Island, Seribu Utara Island Sub-District, Seribu Island Regency, cleaning drain in order to maintain cleanliness and eradicate malaria and eradicate anopheles mosquito. The cleaning itself got assistance from Infrastructure and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU).

Head of Harapan Island Urban Village, Angga Saputra acknowledged residents were agreeing to hold a communal work every weekend. It aims to clean drains and build waterways to flow water into the sea.

“ This is to eradicate malaria along with health sub-department and department ,” he expressed, Friday (9/18).

He assessed it also aims to maintain the malaria-free certificate. His side will focus on observation of the population.

“We’ll do monitoring to create a malaria endemic area, especially resident in Harapan Island Urban Village,” he uttered.

Saputra hoped the puskesmas could also survey land every two months for ensuring Sebira Island is free from malaria.
