Mosque at City Hall Starts to Be Built

Mosque Construction at City Hall has been starting. The groundbreaking was conducted by Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Friday (9/18).

"The construction was Mr.Governor idea," said Head of Jakarta Housing and Government's Building Department, Ika Lestari Aji, when the groundbreaking was held at City Hall, Friday (9/18).
The mosque will be constructed within 3 months by PT Ganiko. It is united with Block D renovation with budget amounted to Rp 18,8 billion. "The budget is united with Block D renovation," she explained.
City Hall Tour to Apply Voucher Transaction System.The mosque will be built on the previous small mosque land that only could accommodate 400 pilgrims. But eventually it will have 2 stories and could accommodate up to 1,513 pilgrims. The first floor's width is 410 square-meters and second floor's width is 594 square-meters.
The mosque's name use the previous small mosque's name, that is Fatahillah Mosque. It is targeted to be complete in December.
As known, there is no mosque at City Hall complex. Thus pilgrims should take a Friday prayer in Block G lobby and breezeway as the small mosque could not accommodate
many pilgrims.
