Sacrificial Animal Stalls in Kebon Nanas TPU Controlled

Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department is holding a raid towards sacrificial animal traders in Kebon Nanas Public Cemetery (TPU), Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Tuesday (9/22).

About 30 sacrificial animals consist of goat and cow have been taken out from the cemetery

"About 30 sacrificial animals consist of goat and cow have been taken out from the cemetery," said Head of Parks and Cemetery Department, Ratna Diah Kurniati, Tuesday (9/22).

Kurniati told, not only taking out the animals, the stalls will also be demolished.

"The traders will demolish the stall. We start holding the raid from 9-10 AM. Then, it will be continued with communal work to clean the cemetery along with our freelancer," she told.

In the raid, she continued, as many as 15 police officers were involved and coordinating with Cemetery Section for East Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department.

"The raid went conducive, there are none of the traders protesting. They are willing to get out of the cemetery persuasively," he disclosed.

After the raid, she added, the supervision of cemetery and parks in the city will keep being improved by deploying special police officers who will patrol around.

"Today, we're also raiding traders who open stall in Mutiara Park, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The officers have been sent to the location," she added.
