Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama participated in Healthy Walking along with elders at the Southwest Entrance of Monas, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Sunday Morning (9/27).

The event titled Fighting Senile was held in order to commemorate World Alzheimer's Month. Where the memory disorders suffered by elders is one of the Alzheimer's symptoms.
"I think Jakartans, including me do not understand. I thought it's usual for elders to have senility. Whereas it's not ordinary senile yet amenability that we start to fight," he expressed.
Djarot Persuaded Citizens to Keep Doing ActivityBasuki appeals all citizens who understand the general symptoms of Alzheimer, such as memory disorders, hard to focus, and do familiar activities, etc.

Director of Indonesia Alzheimer Foundatiom, Kusuma Dewi Suharya stated, in indonesia there are about 46 milion people suffering dementia Alzheimer. Of the number, 22 million of them are in Asia and 1,2 million in Indonesia. Last week, Health Minister, Nila Moeloek had signed action of Dementia Alzheimer.
"Mr Ahok also declared Jakarta as Elderly-Friendly. Hopefully after this there would be erderly-friendly bus, and Poco Poco that could decrease Alzheimer," she disclosed.
