Next Week, 222 Illegal Buildings at Gang Laler will Be Demolished

The relocation of street vendors on Jalan H Jiung and Masjid Al Akbar area, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta is finally discussed in city level. There are 1,200 street vendors to be moved into an empty land in Block B1 of Kemayoran Complex Management Center (PPKK) or known best as Gang Laler.

The demolishment of those illegal buildings will be run next week

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede, admitted the 222 illegal buildings in Gang Laler must be demolished to empty the area. After that, the relocation can be done.

"The demolishment of those illegal buildings will be run next week, October 6. We only support the PPKK," he said.

During the demolishment, his side will deploy 300 Satpol PP personnel assisted with 200 PPSU personnel from urban village and sub-district.

Through this relocation, there will be no more street vendors selling on the roadside. The relocation will also involve private party through its CSR.

"The location will be arranged as Lenggang Jakarta. Street vendors will be classified based on their products," he added.

Herry Purnama, Head of Kemayoran Sub-district, stated the socialization keeps running to the traders to smooth the process.

"We're supporting the program much, and we'll assist PPKK by socializing this to the traders," he stated.
