Education Dept Proposed Psychology Test For 25,828 Teachers

Jakarta Education Department proposed a psychiatric and psychology test for tens of thousands of school teachers in Jakarta. The proposal is being put forward in 2016 City Budget (APBD) Policy - Priority and Preliminary Thresholds (KUA-PPAS) through competency mapping activity.

We proposed the test as an effort to improve teachers competency in Jakarta

"The test is not included yet in 2016 KUA-PPAS. But we hope the legislative could consider it," said Head of Jakarta Education Department,  Arie Budiman, Tuesday (9/29).

Budiman told that Rp 7.7 billion was proposed to the Budgetary Body (Banggar) to realize the test. It is intended for 25,828 teachers from elementary to junior high, senior high/vocational schools.

Principal & Teacher's Quality All Over Jakarta will Be Improved

"We proposed the test as an effort to improve teachers competency in Jakarta," he uttered.

According to him, the teacher role does not only teaching, they can also act as a parent for the students. "The teacher has to work with the heart," he disclosed.

Through such test, he believes any problem in school could be solved in future, including violence case among students that was happened at SDN 07 Pagi, Kebayoran Lama Utara.
