Anthrax Supervision in the City Intensified

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Department claimed that the capital is anthrax endemic , thus the supervision should keep being conducted. Moreover, Jakarta is a consumer area receiving animals from outside of the city.

Head of Animal Livestock Division for Jakarta KPKP Department, Sri Hartati stated, the contagious disease is very deadly, caused by  bacillus anthracite bacterium in its vicious shape.

"The city is anthrax endemic. So the supervision should keep being conducted," she told, Friday (10/2).

Sacrificial Animal in E. Jakarta are Declared Free Anthrax

She disclosed, when finding sacrificial animal which suddenly died, the department then handled it as procedure operational standard (SOP). "By conducting the supervision, we found animal which suddenly died. They handled it as SOP," she disclosed.

According to her, her party is still waiting for laboratory result towards the dead cow samples in Pela Mampang, South Jakarta. "But it is ensured it's not contagious to human," she explained.

She added, will keep deploying officers to the field for supervising the spread of the disease.
