Preventing Bird Flu, 103 Poultries Secured

Central Jakarta sub-dept. of Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) held a poultry raid in RW 04, Kramat urban Village, Senen Sub-district. About hundreds of poultries were secured from the residential.

We secured 71 pigeons and 32 chickens

As much as 37 joint personnel from the agency, Satpol PP, urban village, and sub-district traced the resident houses. Every poultry found was directly secured.

Central Jakarta Head of Sub-dept. of KPKP, Mujadi, said the raid was held since the residents are worry with bird flu potency due to many poultries around their area. The poultry husbanding is already banned based on Bylaw No. 4/2007 about Poultry Husbandry Control.

Poultry Business Moved in January 2015

"We secured 71 pigeons and 32 chickens," said Muljadi, Friday (10/2).

Several poultries were slaughtered there, and the meat was given to the owner. "The cages were also destroyed and burned," he added.

According to him, his side will keep holding the raid in order to avoid bird flu spread.

"They can keep the poultry if there is a certification from related unit," he disclosed.
