Chemical Stores in Gunung Sahari Raided

Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department did a sudden inspection towards chemical stores along Jalan Gunung Sahari Raya, Central Jakarta. As a result, some were controlled due to they sold food mixtures dangerous chemicals.

The store owner sold it at price of Rp 2.3 million per liter, whereas it is illegal

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, the first inspection was targeted to Citra Sari Kimia Store. Yet, its process had been protested when they tried to go inside.

“We received information from an officer who undercover buying mercury in the store. The store owner sold it at price of Rp 2.3 million per liter, whereas it is illegal,” reported Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Department, Irwandi, Monday (10/12).

Dharma Wanita Asked to Combat Hazardous Food Circulation

According to him, chemical sale is set in Home Ministry Regulation No. 44/2009. Every sale must be supported with business permit for hazardous materials (SIUP B2). Thereby, officer can do controlling once in three months.

“We will coordinate the matter to the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM). We just check its trafficking. If there is sanction, the store will be shut down,” he stressed.

Due to having no shakedown authority, the officers did not find evidence at all.
