Basuk : I Don't Concern About Discotheque Operational Hours

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama admitted that he did not concern about discotheque operational hours. He emphasized, the substantial thing he wants to change in Bylaw is sanction over drug findings in the discotheque.

The matter is not about operational hour, but more emphasis on the bylaw

Ahok will tighten the regulation on the sanction applied in entertainment business. Later on, in the new regulation, he wanted to insert the sanction drug findings twice in the discotheque, its operational will be closed down.

"We do not need to talk about restriction hour, but I want to change statement that saying the discotheque will be closed down if there is found drugs circulation. I don't agree. But I want the place to be closed down if there are visitors consuming drug inside discotheque twice," he stressed, at City Hall, Monday (10/5).

Through new regulation, he furthered, the discotheque owners are obligated to supervise drug distribution. If not, the will be sanctioned.

“The matter is not about operational hour, but more emphasis on the bylaw,” he furthered.

Ahok also wanted there is checking on visitors before they enter to the discotheque. It aims to minimize drug circulation.

As known, Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) had proposed to shorten discotheque operational hours from 2 AM becomes 12 AM.
