Basuki: PTT, PPSU & Contract Worker Must Have BPJS

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama issued Governor Instruction No. 190/2015 on the National Health Insurance Participation Registration for non-permanent employee (PTT), Individual Contract Employee and Infrastructure and Public Facility Handling (PPSU).

We want to provide freelancer or PPSU get special privilege to grab Transjakarta bus for free and insured in BJPS

The instruction issued in order to follow up Law No. 40 /2014 on National Health Insurance System. Where every employer shall collect fees from employees and adding dues and the dues paid to the Health Security Agency (BPJS) periodically.

The entire Regional Working Unit (SKPD/UKPD) is required to register contract and non-permanent employee become BPJS member. They were also asked to input the membership dues BPJS in 2016 budget planning

"We want to provide freelancer or PPSU get special privilege to grab Transjakarta bus for free and insured in BJPS," he said at City Hall, Tuesday (10/6).

Ahok hoped through BPJS, they have better future and also could have work assurance.

"We do not know about the fate and the accident in the future. When something bad happens, there are at least a legacy that can be left to their children and grandchildren. That’s the concept," he uttered.

Basuki wanted the all contract workers or freelancers working in City Administration should have BPJS Health and Labor through such instruction

"They all must have BPJS," he disclosed.
