Based on data from South Jakarta Sub-dept. of Fire Handling and Rescue, there are 20 buildings in South Jakarta have not meet the fire protection requirement.

The checking is done periodically

Head Section of Prevention and Resident Participation for South Jakarta Sub-dept. of Fire Handling and Rescue, Hesti Utami, said the checking and protection testing is routinely held once a year.

"The checking is done periodically," she said, Tuesday (10/6).

According to her, the building owners have a good respond during the checking. "Some of them asked us to check their building," she added.

The building without fire protection, she continued, will be sealed and warned strictly.
