Based on the latest data, there are 174 slum community units (RW) this year in five administration areas. West Jakarta is the administration area with the highest number by 67 slum RWs.

Syahrul Effendi, Jakarta Deputy of Population and Settlement Control, explained that the data is collected from urban village and sub-district heads in each areas for three weeks.

Of 67 slum RWs in West Jakarta, one in Kapuk with heavy category and the remaining 66 are in light category.
The second highest is in North Jakarta by 55 RWs, two heavy category in Penjaringan and Kalibaru, and 53 RWs are middle and light category.
"The third highest is in Central Jakarta by 42 RWs, 26 of them are in light category, 8 in middle, and 8 RWs are light," he added.
In Central Jakarta, the middle slum categories are spread in seven urban villages such as Senen, Tanah Tinggi, Kampung Rawa, Karang Anyar and Mangga Dua Selatan. Meanwhile, South Jakarta has 36 slum RWs.
"The lowest number of slum RW is in East Jakarta by 10 RWs," he disclosed.
