Caught Smoking, Student's KJP will Be Revoked

Cigarette billboards around schools area in North Jakarta will be dismantled in the near future.

If there are students caught smoking, either inside or outside of schools during school hours, they will be sanctioned

Head of North Jakarta Education Sub-Department Regional I, Mustafa Kemal stated, the existence of the billboard is not very ethical. Consequently, many students are influenced to smoke.

Cigarette Billboards Near Schools will Be Dismantled

"If there are students caught smoking, either inside or outside of schools during school hours, they will be sanctioned," he asserted, Friday (10/16).

The sanctions are summoning their parents and revoking their Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).

His side, he told, appeals parents to tightly monitor and improve communication thus their children would not be easy influenced by bad society outside the house.

"It's back to education system of parents to their children. Build harmonious relationship thus they would not wreak their problems to negative things including smoking," he disclosed.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, in some locations, cigarette billboards in the size of 5x5 m are standing on some places densely passed by citizens, they are on Jalan Sindang Terusan, Perlimaan Semper, Jalan Kramat Jaya, Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, and other locations.
