Due to damaged water pipe installation, hundreds of Pinus Elok Flat units located at Block A and B, Penggilingan Urban Village, Cakung, East Jakarta, are leak.

It was already surveyed before, but never been repaired

Kokom, one of residents in Pinang Elok Flat at Block B, she was forced to outsmart by using a simple method, which is splitting the big pipe. Pieces of pipe-shaped hollow was arranged thus the water droplets flow to the point where it supplied water reservoirs.

"This leakage has been happening when I occupied the unit. The water often enters my unit in rainy season every day. It was already surveyed before, but never been repaired," she complained, ex-citizen of Ria Rio Dam, Monday (10/26).

Similar statement also came out from Desi, a teacher of PAUD Suryakasih from Reachout Foundation. According to her, the same condition had bee experienced in her teaching room and often inundated. "It had been repaired, but not last long," she told.

Meanwhile, Afit, a flat technician disclosed based on his data, from 800 units, 175 of them are leak . The flat itself consists of tower A with 600 units and B with 200 units.

"Many ceramics are broken due to old. It is worsened with unfit floor drain installation. As for the seepage, downstairs toilet needs more plastering," he explained.

He added, such leak problem is because of blockage mixed with chemicals like soap, oil, food, hair, resulting in clogged and crusty.
