Flood Swamps 100 Houses in Cililitan

Heavy rain poured down Bogor, West Java, causing puddles in Cililitan area, Kramajati, Monday (11/16). The flood with water level up to 50 cm-3 m hits RT 03, 01, 04 RW 06 and RT 06, 08, 18 RW 07 of Cililitan. Recorded, there are 100 houses drown out.

We're also helping to supply food and drink to the flood victims

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, the flood happens due to the overflowing Item River which crosses the area. However, the residents prefer to stay in their house.

Nurhidayat, (45), a resident of RT 06/07 told flood started inundating his house about 2 AM. The water kept rising up slowly and the peak was at 4 AM that was up to 3 meters. Until 12 PM, it has not receded yet.

"The residents prefer to stay because if they go out it will be trouble to get back. There are only some of them going out to find a meal," he explained.

Head of Cililitan Urban Village, Sabdo Kurnianto stated that to monitor water debit, his side is already standby starting at 2 AM. Information gathered that water debit keeps rising as the high water surface on Katulampa Dam.

"We're deploying 52 PPSU officers to clean trash and mud in residents houses. We're also helping to supply food and drink to the flood victims," he stated.
