Fire Guted a Two-story House of British Citizen

A two-story house owned by a British citizen, Joslym was gutted by fire at around 10.15 AM, Thursday (11/19). This burnt building located at Jalan BDN I, RT 14/13, Cilandak Barat, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

I heard a broken glass sound from my boss' office at 10.15 AM.

"I heard a broken glass sound from my boss' office at 10.15 AM. And then black smoke came out from inside," expressed, Yani (39), one of maids in the house, Thursday (11/19).

Seeing this, Yani then ran out of the house to ask for help. And not long after, the fire truck units arrived in the location. "At that time, my boss was working," she told.

Irwan, Head of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, said 15 firetrucks sent to the scene. "We managed to put out the flames around 30 minutes," he reported.

There was no casualty in the incident, but the loss reached more than Rp 100 million. "Temporary allegation, fire is triggered with electricity short-circuit," he disclosed.
