45 Churches Get Extra Tight Guarding

Ahead of Christmas, as many as 45 churches spread in law area of Metro Jaya City Police get security priority. Overall, the number of churches implementing Christmas ceremony is 1,840 churches.

They're prioritized besides huge churches such as Immanuel and Cathedral

Head of Metro Jaya City Police, Ir Gen. Tito Karnavian stated that the 45 churches get the priority because they are near certain mass organization thus have prone level.

"In detail, 20 churches in Central Jakarta, 9 churches in East Jakarta and 3 churches in South Jakarta. They're prioritized besides huge churches such as Immanuel and Cathedral," said Tito during executive meeting at City Hall, Monday (12/7).

During the security of Christmas and New Year Eve, he continued, his side is also guarding 7 vital objects consisting of Tour Site Ancol, Ragunan Zoo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Kota Tua, Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (HI), Monas and Seribu Islands.

"We're also guarding 17 shopping centers in Jakarta with armed personnel. It's as a sign that we're ready to face any threat," he disclosed.
