Basuki: I Force APTB to Follow The System

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama wants the integrated bus network (APTB) to follow payment system of rupiah per kilometer. The fare will be applied evenly by Rp 3,500.

I want the fare to be Rp 3,500. Therefore I force APTB to follow it because if they refuse it, they'll take disadvantage

"I want the fare to be Rp 3,500. Therefore I force APTB to follow it because if they refuse it, they'll take disadvantage," he said, at City Hall, Wednesday (12/23).

According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government will give subsidy or public service obligation (PSO) for citizens. With the system, public transports companies which are reluctant to pay with the system will be automatically bankrupt.

Basuki to Set APTB Bus' Fare By Rp 3,500

"What do you choose? Rp 3,500 or Rp 8,000? I'm sure it would be the right strategy to make all transportation serving under Jakarta Administration. I pay rupiah per kilometer," he finished.
