Wood Pallets of Gembrong Market Peddlers Confiscated

Peddlers' stalls consisting of wood pallets standing on roadside and sidewalk at Gembrong Market, Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, re-controlled by officers, Wednesday (12/30).

They had been warned and socialized before in the sub-district

Cipinang Besar Selatan Urban Village Head, Ibrahim stated that the controlling was a follow up of the agreement made by the local urban village and sub-district with the market peddlers.

"They had been warned and socialized before in the sub-district. Then there was an agreement we already warned in 1x24 hours if they violate we'll confiscate the pallets," said Ibrahim in the location.

Trumpets Peddlers Rampant at Pasar Pagi Asemka

Jatinegara Sub-District Deputy Head, Wawa Kartiwa uttered, the peddlers were given tolerance to use sidewalk as long as there is a space for pedestrians. As for sidewalk at Gembrong Market on the reverse lane, from East Flood Canal (KBT) towards Kampung Melayu, is prohibited to be used since the width is limited.

"We asked the peddlers not to move forward to sidewalk even the roadside. Part of sidewalk is still allowed to be used as long as there's still a space for pedestrians, " he closed.
