Without a Definitive Sekda, City Administration Runs Smoothly
Reported by Erna Martiyanti | Translated by Anisah Mardhatilla
Since last year, the city administration has run without a definitive Regional Secretary (Sekda) and only held by an administrative officer (Plt). In fact, such position is quite strategic in the development of the city. However, the city administration continues to run well and did not encounter significant obstacles, for sure.
We already have Plt Sekda. It has been a year with this, and we’re good
Jakarta Governor, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the presence of a Sekda is urgently needed. However, during one-year, this strategic position is vacant and it does not disrupt the administration. Moreover, he has also been appointed Plt for that position, which is currently held by the City Development Assistant, Wiriyatmoko. "We already have Plt Sekda. It has been a year with this, and we’re good," said Jokowi, at City Hall, Friday (4/11).
In addition, the Sekda job is also assisted with several assistants in tow such as Assistant for Economic Affairs, Government Affairs Assistant, Public Welfare (Kesmas) Assistant, and the Development Assistant. So the task of the Plt Sekda is getting easier. "Besides Plt Sekda, there is also some assistants such as assistant for economic and other fields. All is complete," he continued.
He also requested to the public for not fussing the un-appointed official for Sekda position. In pointing officers, this man from Solo does not want to rush. He has made the fit and proper test or diligence test against 19 officials of echelon II. But until now, there has not been an official occupied Sekda position.
As it is known, on April 9 2013, Fajar Panjaitan resigned his position as city Sekda related to run for the House of Representatives (DPR) member on the legislative elections. Fajar joined as a member of PDI-P party since the end of March 2013. Fajar position as a civil service has been extended once in 2011 and ended on September 1 2013 ago.
