The relocation site construction for street vendor in Kota Tua, Jalan Cengkeh, Pinangsia Urban Village, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, threatened to be cancelled. This is because, the Supreme Court (MA) won the private sector's lawsuit related to land management as wide as 1.2 hectares on that road.

"I have instructed the West Jakarta Law Section to coordinate with Jakarta Law Firm to make legal effort," said  Mayor of West Jakarta, Anas Effendi, Thursday (4/14).

Effendi disclosed, the land is owned by the city administration. Initially, the city administration along with private sector had established cooperation regarding land management at Jalan Cengkeh.

"Then the private sector which has got the city's permit cannot use the land because of not having permit from the central government related to restoration of cultural heritage buildings," he stated.

His party has instructed the law section and related sub-dept to immediately follow up such matter. "I've asked the KUMKMP Sub-dept Head to report the matter to department level, considering relocation site for street vendor project is under planning process.
