Breaking the Rules, AKAP Bus will Be Grounded

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, is about to prohibit the intercity-interprovincial (AKAP) bus entering to the capital if they pick up passenger in forbidden locations. This is because they often lead to traffic jam, especially around terminal.

f you (Transportation Ministry) let them take passenger carelessly, we will revoke their licenses. Along with Transportation Dept, we have a right to prohibit them enter to our city

Basuki will obey the applicable law for type A terminal management. But if the Transportation ministry does not control them, his party will take strict action.

"If you (Transportation Ministry) let them take passenger carelessly, we will revoke their licenses. Along with Transportation Dept, we have a right to prohibit them enter to our city," he stressed, at City Hall, Monday (6/6).

City Wants to Take Over Type A Terminal

His party wanted to take over the authority of type A terminal, thus can control unruly buses. Unfortunately it was rejected by Transportation Ministry.

"Now in Pasar Rebo, many buses stop and pick up passengers carelessly. I actually want to control them. If they still do the same thing and not willing to enter to the terminal, this is what I call a problem," he closed.
