South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Sub-dept successfully caught 82 rabies-spreader animals from 12 urban villages in eight sub-districts along May 2016.

This is to anticipate rabies infection to humans. The wild animals that have been caught are 21 dogs and 61 cats.

"We catch them from Mampang Prapatan, Pancoran, and Jagakarsa. While in Tebet and Setiabudi sub-districts are still safe or zero," expressed Kristrisasi Helenandari, Head of South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Sub-dept, Monday (6/6).

He disclosed that animal catching is done to follow up public report. Those animals then immediately brought to the Animal and Fish Health Hall (BKHI) in Ragunan.

"If the rabies is found, we will do rescue. If it is dangerous, we will eliminate the animal," he said.
