During Ramadhan, the Istiqlal Mosque has provided 3,000 packaged rice meals and takjil (soft snacks to break the fast) for people who want to break the fast at the mosque every day.

This year is the same with previous years where we provide 3,000 packaged rice meals and takjil

"This year is the same with previous years where we provide 3,000 packaged rice meals and takjil," said Vice Chairman of Istiqlal Mosque Takmir Section, Muhammad Wahyono, Wednesday (6/8).

Wahyono added, this year, the number of pilgrims who wanted to break the fast at Istiqlal Mosque increased compared to previous year. Thus the food availibility is still not enough.

Takjil will Be Monitored on Second Day of Ramadhan

"Monday until Thursday, more than 3,000 pilgrims visit to the mosque. And Friday until Sunday, its number will increase up to 4,000. But we do anticipation by giving water and kurma to break the fast," he told.

Further, almost every day, his side receives aid in form of 100 packaged rice meals from residents and pilgrims. They are mostly from Jakarta, Bekasi, Depok and Tangerang.

"Before breaking the fast, we also hold a tausyiah (religious advice), zikir (religious chants) and so forth," he said.
