Road to 500! Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Vice Governor Rano Karno officially launched the '5 Centuries of Jakarta' logo at the 499th anniversary gala in Bundaran HI.
We are competing on the world stage
This new logo signals Jakarta’s evolution into a safe, inclusive, and world-class global hub.
"We are no longer benchmarking against local cities; we are competing on the world stage," stated Pramono.
Night at The Library Marks Jakarta's 499th Anniversary with Five-Century MessageTo achieve this, the Jakarta government is prioritizing the daily comfort of its residents. Through strategic infrastructure projects and facility upgrades, the goal is clear: to provide every Jakartan with seamless and effortless mobility.
"The ultimate goal for Jakarta is to enhance the quality of life—making it more convenient and better integrated. For us, connectivity is not just a priority; it is the foundation of the city’s future," he explained.
Transforming these plans into reality, the city is fast-tracking several key infrastructure projects. Among them is the LRT Velodrome-Manggarai section, which is slated for launch soon, followed by the next phase of construction connecting all the way to Dukuh Atas.
Aside that, new connectivity links at Bundaran HI and the pedestrian deck at Dukuh Atas are currently taking shape.
"We hope this gives Jakarta a fresh new look—one that is more attractive, comfortable, and safe, making the city a place people truly want to visit," Pramono added.
He also highlighted Jakarta’s impressive standing in Resonance’s 'World’s Best Cities 2026' list, where the capital ranked 53rd—surpassing major global hubs like Washington DC and Abu Dhabi.
"This achievement fuels our drive to become a true global city. The logo we just unveiled is the very symbol of that global ambition," he added.
Then, Jakarta is opening its doors wider to the world. But it’s a two-way street: the city is also ready to go global by dispatching its highly skilled workforce to international hubs like Japan, Kuala Lumpur, and Germany.
